RESOLUTION NO. 3158
A RESOLUTION OP PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION AND OP
IN'T'ENTION TO MAKE CHAMOIS AND MODIFICATIONS

RESOLVED, by the Comet,. bh e Ctty of Palo Alto,
Ca liforn ia, tha t it is -hereby preliminextly-deter mined that the
public interest, convenience a nd necessity require, and that it
is the in tention of said Council to m ake c ertain changes and
modifications in the pr oceedings being conducted pursuant to
Resolution No. 3129 of Prelimin ary Determinatio n and R esolution
No. 3141 of In tention, adopted by this C ouncil on August 24, 1959,
a nd September 28, 1959, re spe ctively, to -wit:
(a ) Modify paragraphs (a), (c) and (h) of th e des-
cription of acquisitions and impro veme nts as set forth in said
Resolu tio n No . 3129, and paragraphs (a), (c), a nd (g) of the
description of acqu isitions an d im proveme nts as set forth in s aid
Resolu tion No . 3141, to r ead as set for th in Exhibit " A" heret o
attac he d and incorporated herein by reference.
Notice is hereby giv en tha t Mo nday, the 14th day of
De cember , 1959, at the ho ur of 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the Co uncil
Chamber s, City Hall, Palo Alto , Ca lifornia , are here by fix ed as
' the time an d place when and where said Council will con sider and
fin ally determin e w hether the public in tere st, conv enience and
necessity requir e said changes an d modificatio ns without further
complia nce with the Special Asaessmen ,; Inve stigation, Limitation
and Major ity Pro test Act of 1931, and when a nd w her e it will con-
sider and fin ally act upon the matter of making said changes an d
modification s and when an d wher e it will hea r all pr otests in
relatio n thereto. Any person in terested ma y appear at said time
a nd place befo re the Cou ncil and o bject to any of the other
matters and things herein set f orth.
The City Clerk shall ca use a copy of this Resolution to
be published twice in the Palo Alto Times, a ne wspaper of general
circulation published in said City, and c ause a copy the reof to
be posted n ear the Council Chamber door, the fir st of which pub-
lica tions and said posting shall be at least ten days before the
day set for hearing.

EXHIBIT "A"
(a) The acquisition of e asements necessary to achi eve
a un ifor m width of 60 feet along the northwesterly side of
Seale Avenue from B arbara Driv e to Embarcadero Road and along
the northwesterly side of Garland Drive from L ouis Road s outh-
we ster ly about 300 feet, and the improving ther eof and of the
northeaster ly side of Amherst Street from College Aven ue so uth-
easter ly about 375 feet by grading, re moving t rees, b ushes a nd
existing structu res and constr ucting or reconst ructi ng P ortland
cemen t concrete sidewalks.
(c) The acquisition of easements necessary to achieve a
uniform width of 120 fee t along the southweste rly side of
Arboretu m Road from Willow Road to a point about 240 feet south-
easterly of Quarry Road and to achieve a uniform width of 60
feet a long Colorado Avenue from Greer Road to Bayahore Frontage
Road and the openin g of an unnam ed street running app roximat ely
parallel to and about 100 feet southeasterly of Matadero Canal
from Ross Road northeasterly 470 feet more or,less and the im-
proving of all of said streets an d• of Randers Co urt for its
en tire length and Arbutus Dr ive from Tr act 1816 to Tr act 1580.

(g) The acquisition of a r ight of ser vice in an electrolie r
with conduit, conductor ca ble and pull boxes on Gar y Court.
(h) The co nstructio n of an electrolier with condu it, con -
ductor ca ble and pu ll boxes on Gar y Cou rt.

I hereby ce rtify the foregoing to be a t rue copy of
resolution adopted by the Co uncil of the City of Palo Alto,
Ca lifor nia, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 23rd
da y of Nove mber , 19 59 , by the following vote of
the member s thereof:
