The Counc;:l of the City of Palo Alto met in regular

The minutes of the regular meeting of May 8, 1916, the
adjourned meeting of May II, 191 and the called meetii€ of
May 24, 1916, were read and approved ac read.
Communications.
An invitation from the Woman's Club of Palo Alto to
the Council to attend the laying of the corner stone of its new
club house on June 18, 1916, at3 o cleci4, was accepted.
A communication from Peter Suverkrup relative to clean-
ing refuse from h lock 85 was r eferrttd to the Board of Public
Works.

Refund of Penalties O:'e%reG.
On motion of Condon aan.0 ..;Ga:ier the City Auditor was
instructed to refund all penalties collected under Ordinance r13A
all voting aye on roll call, except Jordan who vo tec: no.
In re Annexation.
Mr. Alfred Seale as chairman of a committee from the
South Palo Alta Improvement o:lub, addressed the Council on the
question of annexing that territory to the City of Palo Alto
and asked specifically for information regard y

of assessment of property that woulO be adopted under annex-
ation.
On :notion of Cramer and Jordan the matter was referred
to Committee #4 and the City -Assessor to confer with the South
Palo Alto committee.

Wing moved that when the Council adjourns adjourn to
the cell of the Mayor. The motion was seconded by ..:ovhcr and
passed by unanimous vote.
On motion of Cramer and Wing the vote o"l.{, the motion to
adjourn was reconsidered.
Cramer made a substitute motion that when the Council
adjourns at adjourn to Monday, June:19, 1516, at 8 p.:.^.. The mo-
