April 10, 1916
The Council of the• City of Palo Alto met in regular
session on this date at 8 p.m., with Mayor Swain presiding. Roll
call as follows: -.
Present:- Ackley, Congdon, Cooley, Henry. Jordan, Miller, Peter-
son, Roller, Snyder, Swain, Shoits, Wing.
Absent: Cramer, Mosher, Vail.

Petition for Jitney Lic enSe Ordinance.
A petition asking that a lice ..se fee be fixed for jit-
ney buses operating "aetween Polo Alto and other points was re-
ferred to Committee 2.
Communication Referred.
A communication from U.P.Ca1lz son, accountant, was re-
ferred to Committee #5.
Propertx Offer Referred.
A communication. from Mrs. S. 6. Townsend. offering to.
the' City of Palo Alto property i.. '_lock 13 was referred to Con-
n.ittee #4.

The special committee (Cooley, Ackley and Snyder) to
which ,he matter of the Moule damage claims had been referred,
reported as follows:
Recommending that the claims of R..,; . Toule. and Agnes.
Moule be settled by the payment of $120.00 in full foe both
claims, a warrant to be drawn from the incidental anademer-
gency budget appropriation of the general fund.

Peterson moved that the recommendations be _ approved
and warrants drawn in payment cf these claims. The motion Was
Seconded by Roller. 0n roll call the motion was lost by the
following vote:

be settled by the Payment of $50 from the incidents; and erzer-

Barker Damage: Claim Settled.
The special committee.(Jordan. Thoits, and Swain) ap-
_,ointed on March 13th, 1916, to confer with E.G.Barker in regard
to a claim filed by- said.-Barker,for damages, reported that an
agreement had been made.whereby said claimant was to be paid
•$KOO on April 11, 1916, and $1000:on October 30, 1916, in settle-
ment in full of said claim. -
On motion of :Ackley' and N:i1ler the report was approved

On motion of-Thoits and Ackley an "Order Fixing; Time for
Rearing Objections" was passed by unanimous vote on roll call.
The time set in the order is April 18th, 1916, at 8 p.m.
Adjournment to April 18, 1 1.6.
Ackley moved that when the Council adj ourne it adjourn
to Tuesday, April 18, 1916, at 8 p.m. The motionwas seconded
by Mil•? er and passed.
Ordinance #134 (Collection) Passed.
Ordinance #134. entitled_ "An Ordinance Providing addi-
tional Rules for the Collection of Water, Light and Garbage Bills"

Snyder and 'tiller moved to amend the ordinance by
striking out Section;5, but the. motion was lost.
0n motion of Ackley and Miller the ordinance as amended

City Electrician Youens called attention to the desi::a_

the City Council to use every effort to lering the matter of the
