HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 3142KWHW:KIJ:mb 9/24/59 100 0 RESOLUTION NO. 3142 A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS manor NO. 58-1 RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Palo Alto, California, that WHEREAS, the said Council did, on the 28th day of Septem- ber, 1959, adopt its Resolution of Intention No. _JAL__ to orde the acquisition and construction of pertain streets and street improvements in,a;ld City, all as more partivalarly described and set forth in said Resolution of Intention; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of the City is hereby directed to publish, by two successive insertions in the Palo Alto Times, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the oonstruclsion of said improvements, and referring to the plans and specifications "on file in the office of said City Clerk, the first of which publications shall be at least ten days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashiers or certified check payable to the order of the City amounting to ten per cent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said City, signed by the bidder and a corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any officer competent to administer an oath, in above all statu;ory exemptions. Sald sealed proposals shall double said amount and over and be delivered to the City Clerk on or before 4:00 o'clock P.M. of Wednesday, the 21st day of October, 1959, said time being not less than ten days from the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be opened, examined and declared on said day and hour by the City M ager, in the Caunoil Chambers in the City Hall, who shall report to the Council his findings, which findings shall be considered by said Council at its meeting to be held at said place on Monday, October 26, 1959; at 7:30 o'clock P.M. * M N N • (I) 1 hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of resolution adopted by the Council of the City of Palo Alto, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the Z1$th day of Sept.nnher 19 59, by the following vote of the membere thereof: AYES, and in favor thereof, Councilmen: "' Al, Byzbee, Davis, 'trans, Giffin, Haight, Atexaksll, Mitchell, Nevis, Rodgers, Stephens, Woodward, Zweng.
