The Council of the City of Palo Alto met in reCular
session on this date at 7:30 p.m., with Mayor Swain presiding.
Roll -call as follows:

.JnderAritors :.--elating to tic observance of building, code regu-
lations as affecting insurance rates.

tition be referred to Committee #2. The substitute motion was
passed .
Revision of a uijdino Code.
On motion of Congdon 1. Win`.: he cues pion. of the re-
vision of the builci. code of the City of Palo Alto was referred
to Committee #2.
Extension of Ft. -1.o tor i.ietrict
Vail presented. the request of Louise Larrecou that she
be per.,aittea- to use her Cui:idi.n , on Lots 67 and 68, Block ll, as
a laundry.
Vail moved that the ordinances of the City be amended
to include in the factory district .Lot 35, 36, 37 and 38. and'
67 and 68, in block 11. The motion was seconded by Cramer and
passed.
On motion of Wing and Cramer the attorney was directed
to prepare such an ordinance. v

The Mayor stated. that one month's extension of time had
been asked in passing the res

streets, in order that; curbs .might be constructed under private
contract.
On motion of kosher and Miller the passage of sci,d re-
solution was deferred to the'January meeting.

An ordinance extending the bonndarics of the factory
district to include property •in Block 11 .ass given first reading
and referred to Committee #2.
Garaees on Pioperty Line.
Cramer called attention to the danger from narages co n-
struc ted on the property line. The drafting of an erd.: r:ance re-
gulating the location of garages was referred to the Attorney and
Committee #2.
Vail Granted Leave
On motion of Mosher and Congdon Councilman Mail way'
en a leave of absence for six 'weeks.
The Mayor appointed Ackley chairman of Committee #2 t
serve dnrin ' the absence of Chairman Vail.
Ordinance #128 Passed.
Ordinance #128, amending Ordinance #71, relating to
metering private fire services, was given second reading and on
motion of "f.osher and henry was passed by unanimous vote on roll
call.

An ordinance relatirin to vehicles was ei,: en second r
ing and on motion of Mosher and Wing was referred back to Com-
mittee #2 for further revision.
