"Palo Alto, Cal., Sept. 23, 1915
"I hereby call a meeting of the Council of t e City of
'Palo Alto, to be held in the Council Room of the City Halal on
"Thureday, September 23, 1915, at 3 p.m., to appropriate :Toney to
"meet the expenses incident to the trial of the suit of Benjamin
"Thomas against the City of Palo Alto, set for September 27, 1915,
"and to transact any other necessary business.

Roll call as follows:
Present: Congdon, Cooley, Cramer, Jordan, `wii1C , Mosher,
Peterson,- Snyder, Swain, Thoits.
Absent: Ackley, Henry, Roller, Vail, Wing.
Appropriation —Thomas Suit;.
City Attorney Malcolm stated that the trial of the damage
suit of Benjamin Thomas against the City of Palo Alto would begin
ctn. September 27th, 1915, in the Superior Court at San dose: and that
money would-be needed to meet certain expenses which the trial
would entail.
Mosher moved that an appropriation for this puroose be
de from the General rnd in a sum not to exceed 320.00. The
motion was seconded by Jordan and passed/by unanimo'.zs vote on
roll call.

On'rrotion of Mosher and Peterson the Mayor and the City
Attorney were authorized to employ counsel to assist the City
Attorney in the trial of the case o.f Thomas vs The City of Palo
Alto, by unanimous vote- on roll call? (Cromer not, votir.E).

October 9th, 1915.
