aaon on this date at 8 p.m. , with Mayor Swain presiding. Roll

The minutes of the meetings of August 9th, 16th and 26th
and September 1st, 1915, were read and approved as read.

An application was read from the Shell Company for the lease
of a lot at. Un ive rs; ty avenue and the state his hw y, and ';.r.
Lamborn, representing said company, addressed the Council.

station at not less than $750 a. year. The motion ;r.. lost by the

.Cooley and Henry moved that action on the petition of the
Company be -postponed to •get an expression of opinion from the
garage owners.
Snyder and Cramer .made a substitute :action that a lot

A communication fro= Attorney General Webb to City Atr
torr.ey Malcolm was read stating that his office would pass on the
validity of' the $2;,000 bonds issued to create 3. street paving re-
volving fund, provided the State Board of Control ;;o requests.
-On motion of Wing and .,.ocher the City Attorney was ask-
ed to confer with the State Board of Control in regard to the pur-
chase of said band issue by said Board.

Chairman Mosher of Committee #1 reported that the co«-
r.^.ittee had held a conference with the Board, of Public Works az'd
that said. Board desired the Council to take action to relieve the
members of the :hoard of personal financis+.l liability should a
judgment. against the Board be found in the Thomas case. The ques-
tion was discussed and it was the .sense of the Council that the
fullest.support and backing would be given said Board.
