RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE GI1ST SNGINEWS
REPORT AND ASSESSMENT LIST FOR WED ABATEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has filed with the City Clerk his
report and assessment list for weed abatement, as provided in
Article 32A of Codified Ordinance No. 5; and
WHEREAS, a hearing was called for August 10, 1959, for
hearing any objections to said report and assessment list; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has published and posted a notice of
said hearing, as provided in said ordinance; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said notice a public hearing was held
on August 10, 1959; and
WHEREAS, protests against said assessment for weed abatement
were presented at the hearing and overruled by the Council, and
the Council having duly considered said report and assessment list;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby
resolves, finds and determines as follows:
1. That said assessment list is in all respects complete and
correct and is hereby confirmed, and that since the filing thereof,
no assessments have been paid.
2. That for a particular description of the lots bearing the
respective assessment numbers set forth in said assessment list and
upon which assessments remain unpaid, severally and respectively,
reference is hereby made to said assessment list in the office of
the Superintendent of Public Works after confirmation by said Council.
3. That the unpaid assessments, as shown on said list and
determined by said Council, shall constitute .a special assessment
against such respective lots or parcels of land shown therein and
shall constitute a lien against such property for the amount of

such assessments until paid. The Assessor shall extend and enter
land upun the 1959-1960 tax roll, tpon which general municipal
taxes are to be collected, and they shall be payable with the
first installment of said taxes and the City Tax Collector shall
irclude the same on the bills for such taxes. Thereafter, such
amounts shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner
as general city taxes are collected and shall be subject to the
same interest and penalties and the same procedure and sale in
case of delinquency. All laws and ordinances applicable to the
levy, collection and enforcement of city taxes are hereby made
applicable to such special assessments.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the
City of Palo Alto on Monday, the 10th day of August , 1959,
by the following vote:
AYES: Bishop, Byxbee, Giffin, Marshall, Mitchell, Navis, Stephens,
Woodward.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Davis, Evans, Haight, Porter, Rodgers, ZweIing.
