NOTICE OF ANNEXATION ELECTION
IN THE TERRITORY KNOWN AS
"FOOTHILLS ANNEXATION N0.2"
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election is he't"eby .
called to be held on the 9th day of June, 1959, in that cert~in
territory hereinafter descr.'.·bed an.d designated "Foothills
Annexation No. 211 , for the purpose of submitting to the qwiliified
electors residing in said territory the question of whether. or
not said territory designated "Foothills Annexation No. 2" shall
be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of th~ City of
Palo Alto, and whether or not the property in said territory
shall, after such Clnnexation, be subject .> taxation equally with
the property within the City of Palo Al to to pay the entirE!
bonded indebtedness of the City of Palo Alto outstanding or
authorized at the date of the first.~uhlication of this notice of
elect:f.on for the acquisition, construction and completion of
municipal improvements.
Said territory is designated and identified for purposes of
this annexation and said election and for use upon the ballots
at said election as "Foo·thills Annexation No. 2". The boundaries
of the territory proposed to be annexed are specifically de:scribed
in the document affixed hereto, marked "Exhibit A", and by
reference made a part hereof.
For purposes of said special election there have been esta
blished ~n said territory two voting precincts, Precinct No. l
comprisir,g all that p·ortion of the territory proposed to be
annexed lying northwesterly of Arastradero Road, and Precinct No.
2 ~omprising the.~orti"n of said terrltory lying southeasterly
of Arastradero Road. Polling places for oaid precincts will be
ad follows:

The polling places will be opened at 7:00 a. m. and closed
at 7:00 p. m. on said June 9, 1959.
The proposition to bf! submitted to the electors and to~be
printed upon the ballots shall be as follows:
"Shall Foothills Annexation No. 2 be annexed to the
City of Falo Alto and the property in the territory
subjected to taxation after annexation equally with
the property within the City of Palo Alto to pay the
entire bonded indebtedness of the City of Palo Alto
outstanding or authorized at the date of the first
?ublication of this notice of election for the
acquisition, construction or completion of municipal
improvements."
Opposite said statement of the proposition to.be voted on
there shall be printed·-t.he words "YES" and "NO, 11 and to the right
of each of these last two words there shall be a voting square.
If an elector shall stamp a cross (i-) in the voting square after
the printed word "YES" the vote of such elector shall be counted
in favor of the annexation of said tt.:rritory to the City of
Palo Al.to, and if an elector shall stamp a cross <+> in the
voting square after the printed word "NO" the vote Qf such
elector shall be counted against such annexation.
In all particulars not herein recited said election shal!
be held in conformity, as near as may be, with the la~s of the
State of California concerning general elections and with said
Annexation Act of 1913.
· The improvements for which bondej indebtedness of the City
of Palo Alto has been incurred, outstanding at the date of the
first publication of this notice, aud the amounts thereof, and
the maximum rates of interest payable the~eon are as fellows:
