Palo Alto. Federation of .Churches, presented a report requesting
the Council to take favorable action in providing e municipal
lodging house and pledging labor to erect the same. The report
was accepted and ordered filed.

,A, communication was received from C. H. Cleim asking six-
ty days extension of hie option to lea.ae certain land held by
the City under lease from Stanford University. The communica-
tion was ordered filed.

The Board of Public 'Works reported in_ the mat_t,er of the
request of the Federal Construction Company for ninety daya exten-
sion on .its- contracts for paving `mid.Glefieid Eoad and i;elviiie,
in si:ey and. Torest Avenues, recd lending that thirty days exten-
sion..or time be granted on condition that said streets be opened
at expiration pf present contract time.
On motion of Wing and Congdon tne report was amended to
grant the axtenoion without condition and was accepters as amend-
