HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 3097RESOLUTION NO, 3097 RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY SURPLUS TO THE CITY'S NEEDS FINDING THAT SALE BY BIDDING PROCEDURE WOULD SERVE NO USEFUL PURPOSE AND AUTHORIZING DISPOSITION OF THE PROPERTY TO PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY. The Council of the City of Palo Alto does resolve as follows: Section 1. Since 1931 the City of Palo Alto has been a party to a contract for the joint use of poles between the City, the Pacific Gas and Electric Company and the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company providing for joint ownership of utglity,poles where jointly used. Section 2. A 1/3 interest in 14 55 -foot poles and a k interest to 3 55 -foot poles together with a 1/3 interest in 1 8 -inch expansion anchor, all of said facilities being located on Alma Street between Charleston and San Antonio Roads, Palo Jito are hereby declared surplus to the needs of the City. Section 3. The Council hereby finds and determines that the sale of such interest by bidding procedure would serve no useful purpose. No one other than Pacific Gas and Electric Company is in any position to buy or use such interest. Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Bill of Sale to Pacific Gas & Electric Company to the property described above in substantial compliance with the form submitted herewith and hereby approved. Introduced' and passed :it a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Palo Alto held on Monday, May 11 , 1959, by the following vote: AYES' Bishop, Byxbee, Corcoran, Cresap, Evans, Giffin, Marshall, Mitchell, Navie, Porter, Rodgers, Stephens, Woodward.
