Adjourned Regular Session.. Palo Alto, ba1., July 16, 1914, --
The -Council of the City of Palo Alto met on 4,his date
at 8 p.m., pursuant to adjournment, with ,.:ayor Swain presiding.
Roll call as follows:
.Present: Congdon, Hettinger, Lakin, LaPeire, Miller, Swain,
Molts, Vandervoort.
.Absent: Ackley, Henry, Jordan, ;:osher, Peterson, Vail, Wing.

.An ordinance entitled 'An ordinance of the City of
Palo Alto relating to garbage and wacte matter and manure" gas
given second reading. The ordinance was then considered section,
by section.
On motion of Congdon and Lakin it was ordered that Sec-
tion 3 be stricken out of the ordinance.
On motion of Lakin and andeavoort it was ordered that
the Dist sentence in Section 15 be stricken out of the ordinance;
On motion of Hettinger arid. LaPeire, action on Section
6 was postponed to await a report from the City Engineer on a plan
of making charges for garbage collection under a flat rate.
Lakin moved that it is the zense of the Council. that
the ordinance be approved as far as acted upon, but that its adop-
tion be postponed until the next meeting. The ::lotion was second
by Hettinger and passed.
As to Layins Gas Pipes.
A. comrnmic Lion from H. J. Sj rider relative to the laying
of gals pipes on Addison Avenue in the 700 Block was on motion -of
Congdon and Lakin referred to the Board of Public Works,' and Gam,
-0n motion, the Council adjourned.
