The Council of she City of Palo Alto met on this date at 7:30 p.m., pursu -r.t ;,o a Resolution passed on 7earch 23rd, 1914 fixing this date as tree -time to hear protests of property owners'' against the removal- Of trees from the Streets. Mayor Thoits pre- sided. Roll call a.s.fol1owe:- Present: Ackley.,. Congdon, Henry, Hettinger, Jordan, Lakin, LaPeire,' Miller, Moeher, Peterson, Swain, Thoits Vail, Vandervoort, Wing. Relating to -Removal of Street Trees. Mayor Thoite stated that the clearing of protests -of property owners against the removal of trees from the streets wo in order. Councilman Lakin_, on behalf o: the"signers,p=bleated a -protest with 150 signatures, worded as follows:- -• "We, the undersigned residents of Palo Alto, wish to protest. against the ,general removal of the shade trees stan%iing is the streets of the City, as we not only consider theme great addition to the beauty of the residence section, but also a decid«- ed asset it attracting •strangers to buy property and build homers within the city limits." , ..A communication from J. 0.
