The Council of the City of Pilo Alto does resolve as
follows:
MNOMMMI,Itt is established that the financial resources
of the City of Palo Alto are insufficient to provide adequate
street facilities, and
MBIBBAS, the City of Palo Alto receives $134,157.27 of
gasoline tax reveeue annually and its street need to the year
1971 are $17,332 S (as reported in the Federal "210" study) ,

and
MMUS, the City of Palo Alto is willing to assume its
full share of the responsibility for correcting its city street
deficiencies within its fin aial ability to do so, and
MIXIBAS, a disproportionate share of city street costs ars
borne by the local property owner, now therefore be it
RESOLVES, by the City of Palo Alto, California, that it does
hereby urge the State Legislature to increase the state motor
vehicle fuel tax by an *Mount of one cent per gallon for alloca-
tion to cities and counties for correction of city street and
county road deficiencies at a rate comparable to the correction
of deficiencies on the State Highway System.
Introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council of
the City of Palo Alto held on .Monday, march 23, 1959, by the following
vote:
