The Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date at 7:30 p.m. at tame. call of Mayor boats, pu scant to the ad- journment of the regular meeting held on November 10, 1913, with Mayor Thoits pre.aiding. Roll call as follows: Present: ..Ackley, .Congdon., Henry, .dettiager, , Jordan, l.aPeire, Miller, Mosher, Peterson, Swain, Tr_oita, Vail, ,ring. Absent: Lakin, Vandervoort. The clerk read a certificate to the effect that he had mailed notices to all the members of the Council, at the request of -Mayor Thoite, on November 15, 1913, notifying said members that the -adjourned meeting provided for at the regular meeting would be held on November 17, 1915, at. 7:30 p.m., for the purposes of said adjournment. Annexation. Petition. On motion of Jordan and Hettinger, the l:ayor was author- ized to appoint a committee to ,prepare a state.ent setting forth the facts in connection with the proposed annexation proposition, aid committee to have power to act. The Mayor named as such come vi ttee, Jordan,- Wing, Congdon, Swain and Hettinger. Claims .flowed. On motion of Hettinger and Peterson, the following claims were allowed and warrant€ ordered drawn in- payment of the same by unanimous vote on roll -call: C. • L. Chairman Hettinger- of Committee ' i made a report recom- mendin that the Board Of Public Works be authorized to enter in. - to contract to furnish water in case of emergency to the Seale 'sterwoarks at 12ectee per 1000 gallons, conditioned on an agree- rent- by the Seale Waterworks to furnish water to the city in ca:e of emergency -at the? same rate; also recommending that the matter of paving Forest avenue be laid --on the table. On motion of Vail and Millero the report was approved. Relating to Mosquitoes. W. H. welly, secretary of -the Chamber of Commerce, pre- moAed a.xequest from residents' of Menlo Park that the Council join in a -movement to exterminate mosquitoes in thin vicinity.
