and of September 2, 1913, were read and approved a

it communication from the League of California ::"unicipal-
ivies was read relative to the convention to be held in Venice on
octoober 6-11, 1913.
Light at Middlefield Bridge —Appropriation.
Chairman Hettinger of Committee #1 made a report in re-
gard to placing a 1 ight at the Middieficlrl road bridge. The City
Zngineer stated that .if the poles of the Pacific Gas and Electric'
Co. or the Telephone Co.,. were'used., the cost of installing the '.
light would be about 450, but if the city pole line were extend-
ed, the cost would be about $100. ..
,On motion'of Wing and Swain a sufficient sum was appro-
priated from the general fund to pay the cost of installing such
light by unanimous vote cn:r ll call.

On motion of Jordan and. Hettinger, an ordinance entitled:
-A Amending ordina ce 05 —governing vehicles of every description" -
was passed. to -second -reading.:

Hettinger and Peterson• moved to ..mend the ordinance by
adding at- the -end of section 2 the words: 'sand except at cross-
ings. as provided.," The amendment was -adopted. -
The original motion adopting the ordinance as amended
was passel by .unanimous vote on roll .call.

"Relating to fortune tellers, phrenologists, etc. -was given se-
cona reading. `
Wing and Swain -moved to amend the ordinance by adding
after section 1 ..the words: °AAll ordinance and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed." The motion was adopter.
The original motion, adopting the ordinance se amended,
was carried by unanimous vote on roll call.
An ordinance entitled "In regard to Electric Light and
''aver Rates," was given second -reading and on motion of Lakin
rid Pete-reora was passed by .unarimoue+ vote on roll call.

and accepted and ordered filed.
Middlefield.. Road Bridge.
On motion of Wing and LaPeire a resolution was adopted,
asking the County Board of Supe4viscre to make an appropriatiomi.
to aid in the cost .of constructing the proposed Middlefield
Road bridge. •
On motion of Jordan and see vtinger, it was directed th st
Councilman Wing, City Attorney Malcolm and City Engineer Byxbee
pre$ent said petition at a meetinw of the Board of Supervisors.
Convention Delegates ame - A. itorop_riati.on.
Wixom moored that Mayor Tho:its:, Clerk Kasson, City .At-
torney Malcolm, City &ngineer Byxbee and Health Officer Nerki m
be appointed delegates to the annual convention of the Teague of
California Municipalitiee to be held in Venice October 6-1t, 1913,
and that an ap propriation• be made from the general fund to corer
expenses of said .delegates. The motion was seconded by Swain and
amend.ed,by Ackley & Eettinger, authorizing the Mayor to appointaa:
-alternate in case of his inability to attend. Passed as amendedby
