At the hearing sworn testimony of Stewart Batten* and Paul Lining was received together with pictures of the property. 'ct 90 2. Upon the basis of the testimony received the follow- ing facts are found concerning 628-632 San Antonio Road, Palo Alto: 1. The building is a redwood rustic two story duplex. 2. The building has broken windows. 3. Weeds and trash create a fire hazard. 4. The interior has sanitary violati.one, 1. e., leaking plumbing pipes, no vents on gas heaters, no screens on windows. �. Floor joists are over spanned. 6. The faundetion supporting the front and rear porch consists of wooden blocks directly in contact with the ground. . Bedroom lacks the required window area of one eighth the superficial floor area for each room. , , .0 3,. Upon the basis ofthe testimony received the follow- ing facts are found concerning 620 San Antonio Road, Palo Alton 1. Electricity is served by a makeshift power pole. 2. Electrical service is insufficient and constitutes a fire hararde 3. The septic: tank overflows. 4. Plumbing system is unsanitary due:.to stoppage, leakage and overflow. 5. The addition of a (small bedroo and bath to this one story milk barn has exterior walla covered with tar- paper. 2. There his been a stoppage of plumbing lines and an overflow of plumbing f tures indicating an inferior pluming system and constituting a health hazard. 3. The building is served by electric and mast utilities only. Section 5. Upon the basis of the testimony received the follow* ing facts are found concerning 4260 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto: 1. Building is a woad frsfsae building with rustic exterior. 2. Electric wiring is overloaded^having only one circuit where approximately four are required. 3. The plumbing system is not adequately vented and trapped and is connected to a septic tank. 4. The house is placed on piers and the under house area is open to animals and vermin. 5. Window screens are torn and broken, roof shingles are misting. 6. Gas and electric meter are served by POINE. 7. A temporary electric power pole is placed in the rear of the building, from which electrical service is brought to the house. rotio>n 6. Upon the basis of the testimony received the follow- ing facts are found concerning 4266 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto: 1. The building is a small rustic cottage. 2. The building has no foundation, the under house area is open and accessible to animals and vermin. 3. Plumbing facilities are not adequately vented and trapped. There has been overflow and stoppage of the plumbing fixtures and the system is connected to a septic tank. 4. Heating appliance flues are terminated under the roof eave creating a fire hazard. 5. The cost of demolition isfound to be approximately $2,000 for all five of these structures. Sectiop S. The buildings are found and declared to be a nuisance. The owner is directed to abate such nuisance by demolition thereof within 30 days of the posting thereon of a copy of this' resolution. The, owner is informed that if he does not so demolish, the City of Palo Alto will and that the cost thereof will be made a lien on the land upon which the building is situated. The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly intro- duced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Palo Alto on Monday, the 26th day of.
