The Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date at p.tv. , pursuant to the following call, dated July 25/1913: "A meeting of the Council of the City of Palo Alto is hereby called for Saturday, July 26, 191 3, at 8 p.m., by order of Eayor E. C. Thoits, for the consideration of. the request of the Board of Public Works for an appropriation of $400 for an el e orat- or bunker at the garbage incinerator plant, and for the transac- tion of such other business as may properly come before the Coun- cil. Absent: Henry, Lakin, Vail, Vandervoort, Wing. SO►C Appropriated for Garoaj e Incinerator Plant. The request of the Board of Public Works for an aparo- rriatiosa of $4Oa.CC for .an elevator bunker at the garbae incin- erator plant was read. Chairman Hettinger of Committee #1 made -a report for that committee recommending' that -the appropriation be made as re- quested. Hettinger moved that an appropriation of $4G0.00 be made from the general fund to the garbage incinerator fund and that the Boaz - of Public Works be authorized' to enter into a contract for the construction of an elevator bucker at the garbage incinerator plant. The motion was seconded by -Swain -and adopted by unanimous vote on roll call. In relation to Subway. City Attorney Malcolm read an order made by the State B.ailroa.d Corr„miseion in regard,to the proposed subway at Palo Alto avenue, and called attention to an apparent error of the Commis- sion in. stipulating that macadam pavement be used, whereas the ai'reenent had been for. an -aephal tic pavement. The City Attorney ws.s:. fns :r•ucted to take up with the Corms.ssion the matter as to the..grade of pavement that should be required. On motion of Jordan and Ackley, the Council adjourned. /City Clerk
