7:30 p.m., pursuant to the following call, addressed to the members
of the Council:

Resolution in re trade Crossing:
A resolution was introduced and read in the matter of ap-
plication No. 352 of the County of Santa Clara to t -e Railroad Com,
mission of the State of California for a grade crossing at Palo Alto
avenue, Palo Alto, .California, asking that a further hearing of this
matter be ,ranted the City of Palo Alto at a day set by the Railroad
Commission of the State, at its offices in the Co:t?i rcial Building,
San Francisco.
The matter was discussed and on motion of Ac .lev and
;ettinger, the resolution was passed by unanimous vote on roll call
and copies were ordered served -on said Commission.
0n motion of :tint, and Hettinger, the _.o_ard of Public Works
was requested 1s t f. q to have the City Engineer collect further traffic
data for the crossing at University avenue.
Relatin;2; to Aid for Flood Sufferers.
Mayor Jordan called attention to the movement started by
the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce to collect funds to aid the suf-
ferers from storms and floods in Ohio and Indiana..
0n motion of iiz,g and Vail the following resolution was
adopted by unanimous vote:
Resolved, That the Council of the City of Palo .Alto ex-
press its sympathy with the victims of the unusual storms and floods
in Ohio and Indiana and pledge ite support in i ntC e e cit

izens the s of Palo Alto in the rover ent started by the 2alo A :to Chamber
of Commerce to send substantial aid as soon as possible.
The Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
