WHEREAS, Section 190 of the Streets and Highways Code of the flint* of California provides that comminuting with the 19'35-59 fiscal year, the sump of five million dollars Z$5,'000, 000) shall be set abode for aibications to grade separation projects of separation of grade districts, cities, cities and counties, and counties on county roads or city streets as provided in Sections 189-191, inclusive, of that code. WHEREAS, an allocation may be made by the Highway Commission of the State of California and the Department of Public Works of the Sate of California of one-half of the estimated cost, after deducting therefrom any contribution to be made by the railroad copporations involved, towards any project which qualifies therefor under the provisions of said sections. WHERiiAS, the estimated cost of the Oregon Avenue -Page Mill Road Grade Separation. Project is $2, 266, 259, and; WHEREAS, the Southern Pacific Company has agreed to pay $230, 850 as its share of the cost of the project, and; WHZE HAS, it is proposed that the remaining estimated cost of the project is to be shared equally by the City of Palo Alto and the Department of Public Works, of the State of California. and; WRERRA8, the City of Palo Alto is eligible to file and will submit an application for an allocation of $1,017,704.50 from the Highway Commission of the State of California and the Department of Public Works of the State of California, and; wHEIi1AS, the City of Palo Alto will be squired to pay an estimated $1.017, 701450 as its share of the cost of e.e project, and; •YaMYr.� rr....N.Nrvn WHEREAS the Council of the City of Palo Alto has previously allo- cated $'t01, 722 for this purpose, and; WHEREAS the Council of the City of Palo Alto has, en June 20, 1958, made an additional $315, 982.50 available for this purpose. NOW THEREFORE be it resolved by the Council of the City of Palo Alto that $1, 017, 704.50 has been made available to the City of Palo Alto to pay its share of the estimated cost of the Oregon Avenue -Page Mill Road Grade Separation Project. The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and passed at a special meeting of the Council of the City of Palo Alto on June 20, 1958 by the following vote: Davis, Evans, Marshall, Mitchell, Porter, Rodgers, AXES: Stephens, Woodward.
