WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto has authorised a Civil Defense
and Disaster organization, which provides for us* of personnel and
resources of the City during an emergency; and
iliEREAS, the City of Palo Alto has entered into Mutual Aid
Agreements whereby the resources of this City may be used to help
other cities and communities during disasters or emergenoies; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has organized the State into
Mutual Aid Regions and Seotora for coordinating the .aarahalling of
the resources of the entire State in the event of a State of
Disaster, or an Extreme Emergency; and
SEAS, Mutual Aid Region 2 has designated the Oountyof Santa
Clara to be a unified Operational Area to expedite and 000rdinate
emergency operations during a State of Disaster or Extreme Emergency;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Palo Alto that the
County Direntor of Civil Defense for the County of Santa Clara be
hereby authorized to act as Operational Area Coordinator to coordinate
the Civil Defense and Disaster operations of the County and Cities
within the Operational Area during a State of Disaster, declared by
the 9overnor,or during a State of Extreme Emergency.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and passed at a regular meeting of the Council of the
City of Palo Alto held on Monday, the 26th day of May, 1958, by
the following vote:
Bishop,. Byxbee, Corcoran, Crimp, Davis, Evans, Giffin,
AYES: Marshall, }Titohell, Navin, Porter, Rodgers, Ruppenthal,
Stephens, Woodward.
NOES: None.
