WHINIAB, the raid Oostnail did, on the 13th day of January,
1958, adopt its Resolution of %rtention llo. 2944, to order the
grading, paysaent,,cui`bs, gutters, sidewalks, sewers, drains, cul-
verts, bride, tree planting and auxiliary work
in said City, all ar'mOre partial*rl7 described and set forth in
said''Resolution of lntentior;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
1. The City Clerk of the City is hereby directed to publish,
by two successive insertions in the Palo Alto Times, a newspaper
published and oiroulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed
proposals or bids for the construction of said improvements, and
referring to the plans and apeoifioittions on file in the office of
said City Clerk, the first of which publications shall be at least
ten days prior to the time fixed for opening bids.
2. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a oaehierl4
or oertified cheek payable to the order of the City aaolnting to
ten peroent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to
said City, alined by the bidder and a corporate surety or by the
bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any officer com-
petent to administer an oath, in double said amount and over and
above all statutory exemptions. Said cheek shall be forfeited
or
said bond shall bottoms payable to said City in ease the bidder de-
positing the same does not, within fifteen days after written
notice that the oentreat has been awarded to him, enter into a
oontraot with the Oity.
