The`C.ounei1 of the City of Palo Alto met in regular
session on this date at 7:30 p.m., with Mayor Haight presiding:

Correction' and A.n royal of _Minutes
Councilwoman Dias asked that a correction be made to
the minute of: -March 26, 19'62, in the fifth paragraph on Page 9
(Page,' 314,.Volu:ne 14, Council Minutes) under the beading "Public
Bus ;rransport'ation`', to include a statement she made at that
meeting that ' he„.would`like.to have the question Of formation of a
:transit distriet for:operation of.a. municipal bus syste:rx submitted to
the voters on the i\Tovember ballot. It was .rno,r.d, seconded and'
carried that this cos ection'ire ;°aac:e, and as thus corrected, the
minutes of the Meeting of March 2.6; ]962 wire approved as distributed.
Use of . inirnprov _d Street at end of. Enema Avenue
The City Manager presented correspondence from Ronald
Williams and Frank Shal en,be., gee relative to the future use of the
unimproved street at the end of'Fncir..a. Avenue (known xs Lucas Lar.e,
formerly Rinconada Street) ,die advised that Mr. Williams request .d:
abandonment of the street to the contiguous property owners to be
used:for the purpose of :providing off-street perking to relieve the
parki:rxg, situation on Er na Avenue. ''4r. Sha.11erberg,e;r suggested
developmentof the unimproved street area for off -•street parking
under an as' essxnent district.
It Was moved by Byxbee, seconded and carried that this
matter be referred to the staff to report back tcothe Council with full
information on the •subject.
Universit'r Avenue Plan
A letter was r, eceived from Harold and Adrienne Snyder-,
lessees of _the property,, with option to purchase, at 12.1 University'
Avenue, objecting to the proposed University Avenue Plan, It was.
directed this be filed with other correspondence or: the subject.
Stanford :Annexation No. 12
A petition was presented from Stanford University
requesting the annexationto the City of Palo Alto of about one-half
acre of land at the easterly corner of Quarry Road and Arboretum
Road, under the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act.
The City Manager advised that it is the intent of Stanford
,University to move the service station presently located on the
westerly corner of this intersection to the easterly corner, as Star.fetei
proposes to lease the present service station. site and adjoining property
