The Council of the City of Palo Alto met in regular.
session on this date at 7:30 P.M., with Mayor Porter presiding.

The, minutes of the meeting of December 14, 1959, were
approved as distributed.
A letter was received from the Clerk of the Board of
Supervisors of San Mateo County requestingan opportunity for the
Chairman of the Board, and the County Manager to discuss with the
Council the request of Henry C Churchill for connection to the
facilities of the Palo Alto Gardens Sewer Maintenance District to
provide sewer service to his trailer court outside the city limits
of Palo Alto.
The City 'Manager'suggested that it would be in order to
invite themto meet with,Committee No. 3 for discussion of mutual
problems. On motion of Mitchell and Bishop, the matter was
referred. to Committee No.. 3 with the understanding the Chairman
of the Board of,,Supervisors and the County Manager of San Mateo
County will be. invited to attend the meeting of Committee No. 3
when this subject -is on the agenda.

Baylands Development Proposal
'A cosmmunication was receivedfrom the Utah Construc

advised that they seer a great opportunity to employ skills and

The City Manager advised that the City Engineer and
Traffic Consultant will continue to make checks and watch the
traffic situation in the vicinity of the underpass to determine whether
additional signsor changes in traffic regulations are necessary:
Councilman Byxbee suggested the advisability of installing
a sign at the entrance to the underpass to *Warn truck drivers that
Oregon Avenue is not :a truck route. The. City Manager advised that
truck signs are underconsideration, and that the Traffic Committee
and Traffic:Consultant are reviewing the matter of truck signs and
other warning signs which may be needed.' He reported that overhead
signs are being considered, and that appropriate recommendations
will be" submitted after further study.
Resolution No. 3'180, amending Resolution No. 2971 to
provide traffic regulations for the Page Mill -Oregon Underpass,: to
artexialize Greer:at'"Colorado and, to.arterialize'East Bayshore Road,
West Bayshore Road and. Fabian Way, in accordance with the
recommendations of the Staff ;Traffic Committee, was introduced, and
on Motion of Mitchell and Zweng, was adopted by unanimous vote on
roll call.
