RESOLUTION OP INTENTION TO ABANDON A
PUBLIC UTILITIES EASEMENT OVER A PORTION OF
LOT 40, MAYVIEW HOMESITES
WHERI<;AS, the City of Palo Alto has acquired a public ut111 ties
eaaeme:r.~t over the following describeil property tn the Cit~· of Palo
Al to, Cour.ty of Santa Clal'a, State of California:
and
\ Beg1nn1.n~ at a point on the Northeasterly line of
Grove i1venuo l50' w1n.e) distant S. 51° 43' E. 85 1 from
the most Westerly corner of: Lot 40, Mayview Homeaites,
recorded December 7, 1931, in Book 11 Y" of Maps at
pages 46 and 47, Records of Santa Clara County, Cal1-
forn1a; thence S. 51• 43 1 E. along the Northeaster).~
line of Grove Avenue 10 1 ; thence N. 38•.17 1 E. 210.88 1
to the Northeasterly 111~ of said Lot 40; thence N. i9•
44 1 w. 11.79' along the Nc,rtheasterly line of said
Lot 40; thence S. 38° 17' ~. 217.13' to the p~1nt of
beginning being a portion of Lot 40, Mayview Homes1tes,
in the City or f'~lo Alto, County of Santa Clara, State
of California;
WHEREAS, said easement is no longer neceesary for the purpose
for wh1ch it waa acquired and dedicated;
NOW, THEREF'ORE, the Council of the City Ol~ l:-'alo Al to does
resolve ae follows:
Section l. That it is the intention of the Council to close
a11ci abandon the easement hereinbefore described.
That any costs in co.:mect1cn w1 th the Vl:}cat1on or
this easement shall be paid b~· J. Cyr11 Johnson, 118 i~illow Road,
~.-110 Park, Cal.1.forn1a.
That notice is hereby given that Monday, the 23rd
day of September, 1957, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., at the Council
Chambers 01· the City Council of said City, in the C1.ty H<..11,, 1:·alo
Al to, Culifornia, be a~·1d the same is hereby set as the day, hour
and place where and when any and all persona having any obJect1ona
to the proposed abandonment may appear before said Council and show
cause why said easement should not be abandoned.

eral ctrculation published and circulated 1n the City of Palo Alto,

dorunent.
Section 5. That the C1 ty Engineer of the said City or Palo Al to
shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of the eaaemo11t
proposed to be vacated not1ce5 of the passage of this reaolut1on of
intention. Said notlcee shall be poeted not more thar! 300 feet
apart but at least three notices shall be poste.:i.
