The minutes of the meeting of April 13, 1959, were approved as --,,distributed. Foothills:.Annexation No. voasmaaa A petition was received for the annexation to the City of Palo Alto of certain uninhabited territory from the following property owners: George F. Morel]., Millard F. Blair, John F. Dahl, Ina R. Dahl, Dorothy' Weddle, Raymond P. Weddle, Alyce Burns, Mildred Scott Ligda, ; 7a nes W. Foley, William A. Mead, Dorothea. B. Mead, Earle C. Hart, Adelle L. Hart and Richard E. Falconer. Attention was calledto the provisions of Section 35305 of the Government Code which states that a petition requesting annexaation rnust be signed by the owners .of not less than one-fourth of the land -in the territoryby area and by assessed value. The City Clerk reported that the total assessedvalue of the land in the, territory is $64,280.00; that the vetitioners. represent $45, 500.00 of assessed value or roughly 71%;; also that there are 3,904 acres of land in the proposed annexation area, and that the petitioners represent 2, 636 acres or roughly 68%. Resolution No.: 3089, "giving notice of the proposed annex..: ation of this territory, to be designated as "Foothills Annexation No 3",: and giving notice of hearing to be held on June 22, 1959, was introduced and a motion was made by Byxbee, seconded by Woodward that the resolutionbe adopted. Councilwoman Corcoran called attention to the poor con- dition of Page Mill Road, the principal road serving the proposed annexation area, and stated that she feels it is the responsibility of the County to improve this road. The City Manager advised that he has directed a letter to the County Engineer's office regarding this matter hut has not yet received a reply. He also reported that De Leuw, Lather and Company have included Page Mill Road in their recommendations for improvement of County highways as a ,part of the Santa Clara County: Trafficways Plan. Resolution No. 3089.giving notice of the proposed annexa- tion of "Foothills No. 3" and setting June 22, 1959 as time for hearing was then adopted by unanimous vote on roll call.
