RESOLUTION NO. 4407
A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION
OF BRYANT STREET AND PUBLIC ALLEY
BRYANT STREET PROJECT
__RESOLVED: _ by the_ Council of _the City of Palo Alto, California,
as follows:
1. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby declares its
intention to order the vacation of the following portions of Bryant
Street and the alley running from Bryant Street to Florence Street
lying northwesterly of and parallel to University Avenue, commonly
known as Alley 20 West, to wit:
a) That portion of Bryant Street extending from
the southeasterly line of Lytton Avenue to
the northwesterly line of University Avenue;
b) That portion of said Alley 20 West extending
100 feet northeasterly from the northeasterly
line of Bryant Street, as said line existed
prior to its widening from a width of 60 feet.
2. Reference for particulars as to the proposed location is
made to a plat on file in the office of the City Clerk labelled
"Plat Showing Portions of Bryant Street and Alley 20 West Proposed
to be Vacated", dated December, 1970, which plat identifies the
portions of Bryant Street and Alley 20 West proposed to be vacated
pursuant to this Resolution.
3. The Council has elected to proceed and this Resolution
is adopted pursuant to the Street Vacation Act of 1941, being
Part 3 (commencing with Section 8300) of Division 9 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California.
4. MONDAY, the llth day of January, 1971, at the hour of
7:30 o'clock P,M. of said day, in the regular meeting place of said
Council, Council Chambers, City Hall, 250 Hamilton Avenue, Palo
Alto, California, be, and the same are hereby fixed as the time
and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to
the proposed vacation, at which time the Council will hear all evi-
dence offered by any p:Irson interested. ea,

5. This Resolution shall be published within fifteen (15)
days after its passage once in the Palo Alto Times, a newspaper of
general circulation published and circulated in the City. Said
publication shall be completed at least ten (10) days before the
date herein set for hearing. Notices of street and alley vacation
shall be posted conspicuously along the line of those portions of
Bryant Street and Alley_ 20 West proposed to be vacated, at least
ten (10) days before the date set for hearing. Such notices shall
be posted not more than 300 feet apart, but at least three (3)
shall be posted along the portions proposed to be vacated of both
Bryant Street and said Alley. Such notices shall state the passage
of this Resolution of Intention and the time and place of the hear-
ing.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct
copy of a resolution duly passed and adopted by the Council of the
City of Palo Alto, California, at a m':::ting thereof held on the
14th day of December , 1970, by the following vote of the
members thereof:

Dias, Gallagher, Norton, Spaeth, Wheatley

please find Resolution of Intention to Vacate a Portion
of Bryant Street and Public Alley.
The Resolution sets a hearing on the proposed vacation
for January 11, 1971.
Upon adoption, we will prepare the forms of notices
for posting.
You will also note that within fifteen days after
passage of the resolution, it should be published once
in the Palo Alto Times. Please let us have a duplicate
of the Affidavit of Publication for our file, when available.
