A RESOLUTION APPOINTING TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
PROTESTS IN RELATION TC PROPOSED ACQUISITIONS AND
IMPROVEMENTS, AND DIRECTING NOTICE
UNIVERSITY AVENUE DISTRICT
STREET LIGHTING PROJECT NO. 70-94
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Palo Alto, California,
that
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 4387, A Resolution of Pre-
liminary Determination and of -Intention, adopted on October 19, 1970,
-by the Council of said City, pursuant to the Palo Alto Municipal. Code,
the City Engineer of said City has filed with the City Clerk of this
City the written report called for under said Code and by said Resolu-
tion of Preliminary Determination and of Intention +rhich report has
been presented by said Clerk to this' Council for consideration, end
this Council has considered and preliminarily- approved and confirmed
.said report . and ordered; that the same stand as tie report for the
purpose of all subsequent proceedings .had pursuant to said- Resolution
of Preliminary Determ. hatien --and Of Intention.
NOW, TBERSFORE, i'r IS. , OR , that' Monday, the 11th day of

IT -IS FURTHER ORDERED that tie-: City' Clerk of this City be, and

said City, and by conspicuously posting a notice thereof along sal
the open streets within the assessment district at not more than
three hundred feet apart, and not less than three in all; said post-
ing and- first publication to be had and completed at least ten days
before the drte herein set for hearing of protests.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that said notices shall be headed "Notice
of Improvement" in letters of not less than one-half inch in height
and shall, in legible characters, state the fact and date of the
passage of said Resolution of Preliminary Determination and of In-
tention and of the filing -of said report and of the date, hour and
place set for the hearing of said protests, and briefly describe the
acquisitions and improvements proposed to be made, and refer to said
Resolution of,Preliminary Determination and of Intention Find report
for further particulars.
IT IS FUROR ORDERED that the City Clerk of said City shall
mail or cause to be mailed notice of the adoption of said Resolution
of Preliminary .Determination and of Intention and the filing of said
report, postage prepaid, at 3.east ten days before the date set for
hearing of said protests,,. as .followsr.
(1) To all persona owning real property proposed to be assessed,
whose names and addressee appear on the last equalized assessment roll
for city taxes, including the utility roll, at said' addresses.
(2). .In cases of , :transfers= of.:1 land, or. parts., thereof, subsequent
to the date on Which the. -last assessor's = roll Was prepared, to such
transferee, at Ka_ nam and add s, as the appear on the records
in the assessor's -office which theassessor will use to prepare the
nextensuing assessor's roll..
(3) To each. person,' -including the owner or person having an
interest in property assessed by the-stateunder.Section 14 of Article
XIII of the: 'California Constitution, who have tiled with the county
assessor for tie current fiscal year, _ a statement o} his name, address,
and a -description of the property owned by, hire, requesting that a
notice of all:. proposals: affecting gliett property shall be mailed to
him (Gov. Code :50905),- at said address.
(4) To such -person at his address or as otherwise known to
the clerk.
(5) In; case of doubt asto the name and address of any owner,
the clerk shall cause said notice to be conspicuously posted on the

property of such person in the assessment district, at or near the
entrance thereto, so that it will be visible to persons on, entering,
leaving or passing said property.
Said notice shall contain a statement of the time, place and
purpose of the hearing on said Resolution of Preliminary Determinat2on
and of Intention and report and a statement of the total estimated
cost of the proposed acquisitions and improvements, the amount as
shown by said report to be assessed against the particular parcel
covered by the notice, together with a statement that any person in-
terested may file a protest in writing as provided in said Code.

copy of a resolution duly passed and adopted by the Council of the
