HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 4371• ORIGINAL - RESOLUTION NO. 4371 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING RESOLUTION 2971 ADDING AND REMOVING PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON CERTAIN STREETS The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as fol- lows: SECTION 1. The no parking at any time prohibition for the northerly side of Sherman Avenue between Birch Street and Peral Lane is hereby rescinded. SECTION 2. The no parking at any time prohibition for the easterly side of El Camino Real from Monroe Drive to 250' southerly of the center of Monroe Drive is hereby rescinded. SECTION 3.The following portions of streets are hereby desig- nated`as zones wherein parking is limited to two hours: El Camino Real, westerly side from Sherman Avenue to Page Mill Expressway SECTION..4.. .The. .following portions of streets are hereby designated as zones wherein parking is prohibited at all times: Deer Creek Road, from Arastradero to City limits line. Coyote Hill Road, from Hillview Avenue to City limits line. Alma Street, westerly side from El Carmelo to southerly city limits linen. Alma Street, easterly side from Dry Creek to southerly city limits line. SECTION 5. Section 6 of Resolution 2971 and the "Parking Zones Map of the -City of Palo Alto" are hereby amended accordingly and the City Manager is authorized and directed to erect appro- priate -signs. SECTION 6. Pursuant to the requirements of the State Division of Highways: 1. Any provisionjof this resolution which regulates traffic or delegates the regulation of traffic upon state highways in any way for which the approval of the Department of Public Works is required by law, shall cease to be oep;ative six months after : t . -///" _./ • receipt by the City Council of written notice of withdrawal of approval of the Department of Public Works. Immediately upon the effective date of such revocation, the City Clerk shall enter upon the original copy of this resolution a notification of such withdrawal. 2. Whenever this resolution delegates authority to a city officer, or authorizes action by the City Council to regulate traffic upon a State Highway in any way which by law required the prior approval of the Department of Public Works, no such officer shall exercise such authority nor shall such action by the City Council be effective with respect to any State Highway without the prior approval in writing of the Department of Public Works when and to the extent required by Division 11 and Division 15 of the Vehicle Code.
