RESOLUTION NO. -1356
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE LONG AND FAITHFUL
SERVICE RENDERED TO THIS CITY BY HAROLD L. MAY
WHEREAS, in recognition of the long, faithful and devoted
services of HAROLD L. MAY, Chief Utilities Engineer for tie City
of Palo Alto, this Council wishes to express its sense of personal
loss at the death of HAROLD L. MAY on May 17, 1970; and
WHEREAS, HAROLD L. MAY's high-mLnded sense of duty to his
profession and to the public, and his sense of mission in his
work to improve and safeguard this community established a record
of achievement which is a source of inspiration for those who
follow; and
WHEREAS, his unusual vision and diligence to his work brought
him respect and admiration from all those who knew him, and his
death is deeply mourned by all.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto RESOLVES
as follows:
That the Council hereby gratefully records its appreciation
as well as the appreciation of the citizens of this community
for the exemplary services of HAROLD L. MAY and directs the City
Clerk to transmit a copy of this resolution to Mrs. May and
extends to her and to the members of Mr. May's family its expression
of sympathy.
