RESOLUTION NO. 4338
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
CONCERNING ACCUMULATION AND EXPENDITURE OF TOPICS
FUNDS BY THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1028 provides for the implementation
of the Traffic Operations Programs to Increase Capacity and
Safety in California, hereinafter referred to as TOPICS,
effective November 10, 1969, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto, by Resolution
No. 4325, designated the Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara
County as the coordinating agent for TOPICS for the City of
Palo Alto, and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Public Works advises that
the City of Palo Alto's apportionment of TOPICS funds for fiscal
year 1969-1970 is $68,914.00, and
WHEREAS, regulations for the use of said TOPICS funds
require the City of Palo Alto to advise the State of its specific
intentions in regard to expenditure and/or accumulation of such
funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Palo Alto that the City of Palo Alto intends to_accumulate
its 1969-1970 apportionment of TOPICS funds until fiscal year
1970-1971 and further intends to expend the apportioned funds
for both fiscal years for improvement projects during fiscal
year 1970-1971.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the City of Palo
Alto is directed to send copies of this resolution to Robert B.
Carleson, Chief Deputy Director of Public Works, Department of
Public Works of the State of California, Robert C. Cozens,
