RESOLUTION NO. 4291
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ADOPTING CITYWIDE STOP INTERSECTION SYSTEM AND MAP
AND RESCINDING SECTIONS 3, 4 AND 5 OF RESOLUTION v!;;

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2971, adopted February 24, 1958,
as from time to time amended, sets forth the stop inter-
sections in the City of Palo Alto, Section 3 thereof specifying
"Through Highways," Section 4 thereof "Through Highways, Portions
of Streets," and Section 5 thereof "Stop Intersections"; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to set forth all of said stop
intersections on a single map;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. There is hereby adopted a map, a copy of which
is attached hereto and designated EXHIBIT A, showing all inter-
sections at which stops are required. Said map shall be
designated the "Stop Intersections Map of the City of Palo Alto."
SECTION 2. Said "Stop Intersection Map of the City of
Palo Alto" shall remain in the custody of the City Clerk.
SECTION 3. Whenever the City Manager, pursuant to his
power under Section 10.12.040 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code,
causes to be erected official traffic signals, the Traffic
Engineer shall enter the same upon the "Stop Intersection Map
of the City of Palo Alto" and the City Manager shall cause to be
removed any stop sign from such intersection.
SECTION 4. Sections 3, 4 and 5 of Resolution No. 2971 are
hereby repealed; provided, however, that the changes provided
for in this resolution shall not affect any right established
or accrued or any offense or act committed, or any penalty or

forfeiture incurred, or any prosecution, suit, or proceeding
pending or any judgment rendered prior to the effective date
of this resolution.
