RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THE CITY OF PALO, LEYTE,
THE PHILIPPINES FOR GIFTS COMMEMORATING PALO ALTO'S
SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, the City of Palo, Leyte, The Philippines, has
presented to the City of Palo Alto two wooden seals represent-
ing the Palo Town Seal and the Twin City Affiliation Seal; and
WHEREAS, Palo Alto and Palo were granted charters in the
Town Affiliation Association in 1962 and became Sister Cities;
and since that time have maintained a meaningful and rewarding
Sister City Program; and
WHEREAS, the Town Affiliation Program has been an effective
vehicle for building bridges of friendship by providing the
means for the exchange of people, information, and ideas; and
WHEREAS, the presentation of these seals is a further ex-
pression of the bond of friendship and understanding which has
developed between the prople of Palo Alto and Palo.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. That Palo Alto accepts with deep gratitude the
beautiful wooden seals designed and created by Vice Mayor
Jeremiah (Miyak) Acebedo with the recognition that the people
of Palo Alto will enjoy this gift of artistry and love for
many years.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall cause copies of this

resolution to be sent to the Municipal Council of Palo, care
of Mayor Antonio M. Ogayan; to Vice Mayor Jeremiah Acebedo;
to Mr. Juan Tismo, First Giant of the Giants Club and to
Neighbors Abroad.
