Utility Easements On motion of Porter and Hanley, and by unanimous vote on roll call, the_Council adopted resolutions accepting the fol- lowing grants of easements (1;); easement for power line purposes from Lillian Kirkbrde covering property in Block 16, Stanford City; -:(2) easement for -sanitary sewer ,purposes from the Board of Trustees of the First'Crristian Church of Palo Alto, covering portion'Of Lot 56, Wooster Subdivision:;,, and (3) easement for utility purposes from;Niilo.Okerman and Aino M. 0kerman, covering portion of Lots 8 -and 9, Block 110, University Park. Riding of Bicycles on Sidewalks A proposed ordinance amending Section 19.30 of Codifie Ordinance No. 5.regulating riding of bicycles on sidewalks was presented for second .reading. Mr., Don Church addressed .the, Council objecting to the. proposed ordinance which would permit the riding of bicycles o' sidewalks except in the business district. Ere stated that :he would';not object to mail carriers, and possibly newsboys, using the sidewalks, but was very much opposed to letting any one else ride bicycles on the sidewalks.' The City. -Manager pointed out that the matter had come before the Council at the request of the Postmaster who asked that mail <carriers be permitted to ride on the sidewalks w.lile;de�ivering mail.. He suggested that the ordinance.be referred back to Committee No. 2 for further consideration; --so that the `Traffic Committee would have an opportunity to make a recommendation on'the matter to the committee. On motion of Simpson and Mitchell, the proposed ordinance was referred back to Committee No. 2 for further study. The meeting was declared adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
