Home My WebLink AboutRESO 4237• ORIGINAL • RESOLUTION NO. 4237 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DESIGNATING PRECINCTS AND NAMING ELECTION OFFICERS FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON MAY 13, 1969 The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. For the purpose of holding and conducting a general municipal election to be held in the City of Palo Alto on Tuesday, May 13, 1969, the City of Palo Alto is hereby dis- tricted and subdivided into forty-one municipal election precincts, numbers 1 to 41, inclusive, as more particularly hereinafter set forth. Said precincts shall be respectively composed of the territory included within those election precincts hereinafter specified as the same may have been constituted and designated by the County of Santa Clara for general, state and county elections, as shown on maps on file in the Department of Registration and Elections of Santa Clara County, as of November 5, 1968. The Board of Elections for each municipal election precinct shall consist of one inspector, one judge, one clerk and one ballot clerk. SECTION 2. There is attached hereto and incorporated herein as EXHIBIT A a list furnished by the Registrar of Voters of Santa Clara County setting forth the polling places of said election precincts for said general municipal election, together with the persons who shall occupy the respective offices that shall comprise the board of elections for each such precinct. SECTION 3. The polls shall be opened at said polling places at 7:00 o'clock a.m. of said day of election and shall be kept open until 8:00 o'clock p.m. of said day, when the polls shall be closed (except as provided in section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California), and the election officers shall 1 • thareupon proceed to canvass the ballots cast thereat. Voters, in voting, shall use only the official ballot fur- nished for said purpose by the City of Palo Alto. SECTION 4. The schedule of fees for the services of the officers of election and the use of polling places for said general municipal election shall be as follows: Inspectors $21.00 Judges and Clerks $18.00 Houses $15.00 Schools $ 5.00 SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Palo Alto, as required by section 22834 of the Elections Code.
