On motonofMitchell and Huston, these tentative maps were approved, in accordance with the recommendations. Lot Redi•visions The;Pl:anning'--Commission recommended approval of the following: proposed redivision of lots: a. Part'of Lots 2 and 3, Block 6, Seale Subdivision No..7, southerly side of Waverley Street between S.eaie•and.Santa Rita Avenues, subject tOegranting of a five-foot public utility easement as:shown on the map: Lots 1 to; 5, =Block 1, Bell Tract, on Sutter Avenue between Middlefield Road and Ross Road On motion of Drysdale and Cunnings, these lot re - divisions were approved as recommended by the Planning Commission., Parking Lots, Meter Rates A `_report was received from Committee No. 2 recommending. that the .parking meter rate on the Gilman Street parking lot be set:at 5 cents per ,hour -With 4 hours maximum parking; that the rate on 'the Haitiilton : Avenue,lot be set at one cent for 12 minutes or 5' :cents per;,'hour, with two hours maximum; and that the rate on the old City Hall lot be established at 5 cents for 30 minutes with one hour :maxiunam parking. Theerate,structures were explained by the City Manager who pointed: out that the,rates can be modified at any time deemed destr°able "by`; the ;Council. He advised that because of their locations, the;:; committee felt that the rate on the Gilman Street lot should be :Comparable to the rate on the Bryant -Forest lot, and that the rate .on=the Hamilton Avenue lot should be comparable to the `Lytton Merson lot; and that because of its proximity, to the center. of the;':business district and high turnover expected, the maximum parking time on the old City Hall lot should be one 'hour and ; thee :mite ;.set at '5 cents for 30 minutes. On motion of.Bishop and Wickett, a proposed ordinance. adding thesethree parking lots to the "Parking Meter. Zones Map?. and establishing the parking meter rates, was accepted for first reading.; Project 52-13,` Dismissal of Eminent Domain Action A report was received from Committee No. 2 recommending that the eminent domain action on the proposed parking lots' in Project ,52 -13, -University Avenue district, be dismissed without prejudice,* ResolutioniNo. 2505 authorizing the City Attorney to dismiss wtt,hout.,pre,judic.e certain actions in eminent domain filed against: property :ir.; Project x.52-13, was introduced, and, on motion of Byxbee'.and' Hanley, _was adopted on roll call with 14 <Ayee Councilman Simpson eras;, absent during this roll call. Removal of: "S" Zone -in Block 21 'A report;: was ;submitted:by Committee No. 2' recoxm ending that the "S" zone be removedfrom the Corgregational Church. property in Block:21, : in accordance ,with the terms of the contract.; for .'tho purchase of . a portion of: the church property. The Mayor adv1ed that legal procedures are involved in this question, and ,referred the matter back to Committee No. 2 for :further' .constderation•. Ordinance 'Prohibiting Parking on Portion of Middlefield Road: A report was. submitted: b1 C:oanmittee No. 2 recommending, the adoption of.an ordinance prohibiting parking on the westerly side of ..Middlefield Road Abetween Lytton Avenue and University Avenue, and on the .,eas:tor :y side Of Middlefield Road from University `Avenue to a»;point 110 feet south of University Avenue. On': motion ot-;:.Hanley, and_ Porter, a propoeed ordinance to this .effect was accepted for: "first reading. Withdrawal of'Coastwise Annexation from Fire District Resolution No-. 2506 withdrawing the territory known, as "Coastwise Annexation" f rom =the Fremont Fire District was intro- duced, and' or: motion of::Byxbee and Drysdale, was adopted by unanimous': vote on roll ;call. Uti1ityf Easement (Ant:oku Farming Cot" A reaolution,-accepting;': a. grant of easement for utility purposes from ,the Antoku Farming 'Company, covering part of Lot 7., J. J. J. Morris; Real. Greer et al) Reeol.uton .No. 2507 accepting a deed of easement for storm -drainage purposes from Mary C. Greer et al was introduced, and on motion of Bishop and Mitchell, was adopted by unanimous vote on' roll call. Acceptance of Deeds to Property: Block 21 On motion of Simpson and Hanley, and by unanimous vote on roll call, the Council adopted resolutions accepting deeds from Edward and -.Sylvia Hoffacker covering portion of Lot 4, Block 21, from Fred S. and. -Ruth A. Eyerly covering portion of Lot 3, Block 21, and from the First Congregational Church of Palo Alto, covering a portion of Lot 3,- Block 21. Stop Signs on Lincoln and Hamilton Avenues Ordinance No. 1513 establishing arterial stop signs on certain streets intersecting Lincoln Avenue and Hamilton Avenue was given second reading, and on motion of Wickett and Drysdale, was; adopted by unanimous vote :on roll call. Parking on City Property Ordinance No. , 1514 adding Section 19.60 to Codified Ordinance No. 5, regulating*parking on city property, was given second reading,, andon motion of Mitchell and Huston, was adopted by unanimous vote on roll call.
