RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ACKNOWLEDGING THE VALUABLE CONTRIBUTIONS AND SERVICES
OF RAYMOND L. FLEMING WHILE SERVING AS A MEMBER OF THE
PALO ALTO HU MAN R ELA TI ONS COUNCI L
W HEREAS, it w as with p rofound s orr ow that the City C ouncil
lear ne d of the untim ely p assing of RAY MOND L. FLE MING, a member of
the Palo Alto Human R elations Coun cil, on Sund ay, December 22, 1968;
an d
WHE REAS, RAYM OND L. FLEMING consci entiously served his community
and was known and loved for his eage rnes s to be of assistance to
people in all walks of life , and of all races, relgions and cr eeds,
and was a frien d and c ounsellor to many i ndividu als, both stud ents
and adults; a nd
W HEREAS, while serving as a me mber of the Human Relations Council,
and in his other civic a ctivities, RAYM OND L. FLE MING was a ti reless
and for ceful advoc ate of human rights a nd equality for all men; and
WHEREAS, his passir3 will be sore ly fe lt by the members of his
family, his stu dents, his many c lose frie nds a nd all othe rs who knew
him and of his dedica tion and devo tion to the welfare of his fellow
man.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Palo Alto that we do hereby express our sorr ow at the passing of
RAY MOND L. FLEMING and, acknowle dging his ma ny contributions to the
community, exte nd to his widow and children our mos t sincere condolen ces
and our a pprecia tio n for sharin g his time and energies with those he
se rved and he lped..
