RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF f ~..!.0 ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE LONG AND FAITHFUL
SERVICE RENDERED TO THIS CITY BY JOHN E. LYNCH
WHEREAS, in_. recognition of the long, faithful, anci. devoted services of
JOHN E. LYNCH, this Council wishes ~o express its sense of per5onal loss at
his untimely death on December 13, 1971~ and
WHEREAS, JOHN E. LYNCH, as a member of the law firm of Wilson, Jones,
Morton and Lynch since 1958, specialized in the handling of the City's condem~
nation work. The City has immeasurably benefited by the unusual vision ;md
diligence with which he pursued his tasks. He brought to every decision a
sense of fairness and legal wisdom acquired through many years of experience.
His work was always of the highest caliber and his outstanding ability has
reflected high honor upon the legal profession and hi.s memory will be a worthy
inspiration to those who follow him. He was a dominant figure in his profession,
a man of great insight, rare force and fine tact. He was held in great affection

by all who knew hi:rn and is deeply mourned by all.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto RESOLVES as follows:
That the Council hereby gratefully records its appreciation as well as the
appreciation of the citizens of this community for the services of JOHN E. LYNCH
and directs the City Clerk to transmit a copy of this rt...::qlution to Mrs. Lynch
and extend to her and to the members of Mr. Lynch's family this expression of
heartfelt sympathy in the great loss that they, in-common with this comm~ity,
have suffered through his death.
