HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 4523• • • • ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 45Z3 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATES OF PER DIEM WAGES IN CONTRACTS FOR PUBLIC WORKS FOR THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF SUCH RATES AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 4384 (ADOPTED 10-19-70) WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 1773 of the Labor Code a public body awarding a contract or undertaking public works must determine the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in accordance with standard~ set forth in said Code for each craft, classification or type of workman needed to execute the contract: and WHEREAS, the City Council has ascertained and considered applicable wage rates established by collective bargaining agree- ments within the locality and in the r1earest labor market area, particularly the Santa Clara-San Benito Counties Building and Construction Trades Council wage scales, NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. The Council hereby determines the general pre- vailing rate of per diem wages as of November 19, 1971 in the Palo Alto locality for all public works under contract to be that set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara and said county is authorized to publish said wage rates as required by law. SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Director of Ir.dustrial Relations of the State of California, San Francisco, California. -1 - • • • • • • - SECTION 4.
