RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
CONVEYING SYMPATHY FOR THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF GENE
ARTHUR CLIFTON AND RECORDING THE APPRECIATION OF
THE COMMUNITY FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE
The sudden and premature death of GENE ARTHUR CLIFTON on
November 19, 1971, has saddened the entire community and his
multitude of friends. In his death, the community has lost a
devoted employee and a professional police officer.
During his four years of service with the City of Palo Alto,
GENE ARTHUR CLIFTON approached his work with dedication, compassion,
and understanding, striving to improve his professional ability
with continued study and displaying personal courage in carrying
out his work in the tradition of the ~ervice which he exemplified.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records its appreciation-and the
appreciation of the citizens of this community for the faithful
and dedicated service to the City of GENE ARTHUR CLIFTON and with
a sense of community loss is mingled a deep sympathy for the
members of his family.
