RESOLUTION NO. 4509
RESOI.UTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION AND EXTENDING BEST WISHES
TO GEORGE E. MORGAN UPON HIS RESIGNATION
WHEREAS, GEORGE E. MORGAN, has resigned his position as City
Manager of the City of Palo Alto, effective October 9, 1971, after
lnore than twenty years of service, six years as City Manager and
pzlor to that ten years as Assistant City Manager; and
WHEREAS, GEORGE E. MORGAN, brought to the City sound principles
of city government and combined with this the most uncompromising
honesty; and
WHEREAS, GEORGE E. MORGAN undertook his tasks with intelligence,
firmness and efficiency and because of his strong leadership, sense
of duty and responsibility he will have the satisfaction of knowing
that his labors will provide great enrichment to this comm~ity in
the years to come; and
WHEREAS, GEORGE E. MORGAN devoted his effort and abundant energy,
rich in professionalism and leadership toward municipal service with
an enthusiasm impressive to all who seek enduring ways of serving
their community; gaining the respect and friendship of his co-workers,
professional colleagues and Palo Alto residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Palo Alto is proud of his performance and appreciative of his dedi-
cation toward community service and gratefully records its appreciation
and the appreciation of the citizens of this community for devoted
service rendered and extends to him its most sincere wishes.
