RES O L UT I 0 N OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPOINTING TWO PUBLIC OFFICER MEMBERS AND TWO ALTER-
NATE PUBLIC OFFICEN MEMBERS TO THE SAN JOSE-PALO ALTO
TRANSIT AUTHORITY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO:
WHEREAS, the Cities of San Jose and Palo Alto have entered
into-a joint exercise of powers agreement entitled, "Joint
Exercise of Powers Agreement Between City of San Jose and City
of Palo Alto fo-c Mass Transportation Demonstration Program",
.. .,hereby a public entity, known as "San Jose -Palo Alto Transit
Authority", separate from both of said cities, has been created;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 7 (b) of said joint powers
agreement this Council must appoint two of its members as public
officer members of the Board of said Authority and, also, pur-
suant to Section 7 (e) of said agreement must appoint two of its
members as alternates, one of whom shall be an alternate for one
of the public officer members appointed by this Council and the
second of whom shall be an alternate for the second regular
public officer member appointed by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to Section 7 (b) of said joint
powers agreement this Council does hereby appoint Councilman Frances
K. Dias and Councilman Richard Rosenbaum as public officer
members of the Board of said San Jose -Palo Alto Transit
Authority, and pursuant to Section 7 (e) of eaid agreement this
Council does hereby appoint Vice Mayor Stanley R. Norton as the
alternate member on said Board for Councilman Frances K. Dias
and Councilman John J, Berwa}d as the alternate member on said
Board for Cqµpdlman Rjchard Ro1enbanm •
