RESOLUTION NO. 4476
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
COMMENDING THE OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE OF
COUNCILMAN EDWARD S. ARNOLD
WHEREAS, Edward s. Arnold served the City of Palo Alto as
Councilman from 1961 to 1971; and
WHEREAS, Edward S. Arnold served as Vice Mayor from 1964
to 1965 and from 1967 to 1968 and served as Mayor of Palo Alto
from 1965 to 1966 and 1968 to 1970, guiding the Council through
its ~any duties; and
WHEREAS, Edward s. Arnold has given unselfishly of his time
and talents during one.of the most important periods in the
histpry of the City; and
WHEREAS, through the efforts and contributions of Edward s.
Arnold, the City continued to occupy a position of emin~nce in
terms of the quality of service provided to its citizens: and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto desires to recognize the
meritorious service of Edward s. Arnold;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of
Ed~ar<l s. Arnold and records it appreciation as well as the
appreciatior. of the citizens of this community for the service
and contribution rendered during his term on the Council.
