RESOLUTION OF THE COPNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION, DIVISION
Or FORESTRY (BASIC WATERSHED FIRE PROTECTION)
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as
follows:
That the Amendment to Agreement of June 30, 1970, for
Basic Watershed Fire Protection attached hereto between the
CITY OF PALO ALTO and the STATE OF CALI~ORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF
CONSERVATION, DIVISION OF FORESTRY, be and the same hereby is
approved; that the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized and
directed to execute the same for and L1 behalf of the City;
and that the City Clerk is authorized and directed to attest
his signature.

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, mad~ this td: day of ~, 1971,
by and between the CITY OF PALO ALTO, a munici~~o.;;::.:tion,
hereinafter called "City", and the STATE OF CALIFORNIA,
DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION, DIVISION OF FORESTRY, through its
duly appointed, qualified, and acting State Forester, herein-
after called "Forestry";
W I T N E S S E T H: ---------
WHEREAS, under Agreement dated June 30, 1970, FORESTRY and
CITY entered into an agreement providing for forest fire pro-
t~ction by FORESTRY on 6,622 acres of land which had been
annexed by CITY; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the parties hereto to extend
the term of said agreement for an additional year and to amend
said agreement to reflect the new rate of providing said pro-
tection by FORESTRY;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed as follows:
1. Effective July l, 1971, paragraphs 2 and 3 of said
agreement are her~by deleted and the following substituted
therefor:
"2. CITY shall pay FORESTRY for providing said
protection at the rate of $1.35 per acre, plus a ten
percent administrative charge, or a total of $9,834.00
upon presentation of an invoice therefor by FORESTRY."
11 3. The term of this agreement shall be for one (1)
year, commencing July 1, 1971, and ending on June 30, 1972.11
2. The following paragraph is hereby added to said agree-
ment:
11 6. No discrimination shall be made in the employment
of pers<..·?"3 to perform work under this aq::eement because of
race, color, national origin, ancestry, or religion of such
person."

3. All other terms and conditions of said agreement shall
remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this agreement has been executed by
the parties hereto as of the date first hereinabove written.
