RESOLUTION NO. 4418
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO WILLIAM A. HYOIE UPON
HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, WILLIAM A. HYDIE retired on January 8, 1971, after
more than eighteen years of continuous service as Palo Alto's
Chief of Police; and
WHEREAS, under the direction of WILLIAM A HYDIE, the Palo Alto
Police Department has ~continually adapted to a growing and changing
community through organizational and operational changes and
improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Police Department has grown pro-
fessionally during the eighteen years ".f WILLIAM A. HYDIE'S
service, as witnessed by the awards and recognition received by
the department during that period; and
WHEREAS, during his career with the City WILLIAM A. HYDIE
has earned the respect and friendship of his co-workers, pro-
fessional collea9ues and Palo Alto residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is proud of his work performance
and appreciative of his efforts and dedication toward municipal
service and professional accomplishment;
NOW, TnEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records its appreciation as well
as the appreciation of the citizens of ~..his conununity for faithful
service rendered to the City a.~d extends to WILLIAM A. HYDIE its
sincere good wishes for a long and happy retirement.
