RESOLUTION NO. 4690 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO ADOPTING AND AMENDING THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO WHEREAS, on :.fay 11, 1964, the Council of the City of Palo Alto did adopt by motion the Standard Specifications of the City of Palo Alto; and WHEREAS, on March 18, 1968, the Council of the City of Palo Alto did introduce for first reading Ordinance No. 2420 "Amending the Palo Alto Municipal Code to Add Provisions Regarding Nondiscrimination in the performance of ~ity Contracts" and by unanimous motion adopted the proposed amendments and directed that they be -incorporated in the City Standard Specifications as stated in the ordinance which was later adopted on April 1, 1968. in acc~rdance with said motion the ordinance provisions were included in the Standard Specifications as Section 7.03; and WHEREAS, Section 21.24.010 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code pro- vides as follows: "21.24.010 Standards adopted. All improvements hereinafter mentioned shall not be less than those set forth in the "Standard Specifications of the City of Palo Alto", adopted by resolution of the city council, copies of which are on file in the office of the city engineer. 11 WHEREAS, the City Engineer wishes to make additional changes to the Standard Specifications as stated in the following sections; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION l. The Council of the City of Palo Alto does hereby adopt the Standard $pecifications pr~pared by the Office of the City Engineer, Second Edition 1970, together with the amendments and additions set forth in Section 2, 3, 4, and 5 herein. SECTION 2. Section 1.18 of the Standard Specifications is amended to designate the California Specifications as "Standard Speci- fications, State of California, Department cf Public Works, Division -l - • • .. of Highways 11 deleting January, 1969, so that the most. recent State standard ~pecifications will be used. SECTION 3. Section 9.01 of the Standard Specificaticns is here- -.by._amended to specify the most recent California specifications and deleting the reference to January, 1~69, as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto anJ by ~eference made a part hereof. SECTION 4. Drawings No. 15139, 15140, 15141, 14086, 15142, 15149 and 15144 are hereby amended as set forth on EXHIBITS B, c, D, E, F, F, and H are hereby incorpo~ated in the Standard Specifications \ all of which eliminate the one-inch lip above street surface at drive- way locations. SECTION 5. Section 30 entitled "Traffic Signals", containing Sections 30.01 through 30.10, together with Drawings Nos. K-1184, "Detector Loops," K-1185 "Traffic Signal Service Arrangements", and K-1186 "Traffic Signal Grounding Provisions" and Table No. 30.08-1 consisting of two pages entitled "Signal Code" _are hereby added to the Standard Specifications as ~et forth in EXHIBIT I consisting of eleven ,pages and are attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof. ,INTRODUCED AND PASSED: December-18) 1972.
