HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 4688• • ORiGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 4688 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO FINDING AND DECLARING THAT A MAJORITY PROTEST HAS NOT a·EEN MADE TO THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNI~HABITED TERRITORY LOCATED AT THE IHTERSECTION OF PAGE MILL ROAD AND PETER COUTTS ROAD, AND PETER COUTTS ROAD, DESIGNATED AS "FRENCHMAN'S TERRACE ANNEXATION," TO THE CITY OF PALO ALTO WHEREAS, on the 25th day of September, 1972, the Council of the City of Palo Alto did pass and adopt Rt-solution No. 4664 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited ter- ritory to the C~ty of Palo Alto, said territory being therein designated as "Frenchman's Terrace Annexation," and said resolution described the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS , on the 11th' day of December, 19 7 2 , the Council of the City of Palo Alto did pass and adopt ResolutioL ·No. 4687 setting December 18, 1972, as the date of a public hearing on the petition to annex said territory; and WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 4687 deals with an amendment and expansion of the territory described in Resolution No. 4664; and WHEREAS, said Resolutions Nos. 4664 and 4687 did contain a notice, hour, and place when and where the Council of the City of Palo Alto would hel\r protests made by any person owning property within the City of Palo Alto, said annexation having been consented to by the owner of all of the real property proposed to be annexed, and the time of said hearing being not more than thirty days from the date of passage of said Resolutions Noa. 4664 and 4687; and WHEREAS, on the 18th day of December, 1972, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the cou~cil Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Palo Alto, County of Santa Clare.., State of California, said time and place being the day, h0ur and place fixed in said Re•olution No. 4687. and the continued day, hour and place of heating fixed . '. ; . •• • in Resolution No. 4664, for hearinq protests to the said annexation said City council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine that protest had not been made by public and private owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Palo Alto, and is uninhabited territory_ in the County of Santa Clara; NOW, THEREFORE, the council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: That the council does hereby find and declare that a majority protest has not been made by public and private owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed.
