RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR CALIFORNIA COUNCIL ON
CRIMINAL JUSTICE GRANT FOR A DEMONSTRATION EVALUATION
OF COMMUNITY DRUG PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to evaluate its com-
munity Drug Abuse Treatment and Prevention Program1 and
WHEREAS, the California Collncil on Criminal ,Justice may con-
-
sent to review for possible funding the project submitted by the
City of Palo Alto referred to as Demonstration Evaluation of Com-
munity Drug Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of Palo Alto is authorized
and directed to execute and submit to the California Council on
Criminal Justice on behalf of the City of Palo Alto, the application
for grant for law enforcement purposes.
SECTION 2. In the event the California Council on Criminal
Justice consents to fund the above project, the City of Palo Alto
agrees to accept the grant and authorizes and designates the City
Manager to execute on behalf of the City of Palo Alto the contract
for the qrant for law enforcement purposes.
SECTION 3. The City of Palo Alto agr~es to provide the re-
quired matching funds to said project.
SECTION 4. The qrant funds received hereunder shall not be
used to supplant onqoing law enforceme_nt expenditures.
