RESOLUTION NO. 467'3
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
URGING A 11 NO" VOTE ON PROPOSITION NO. 22 -
THE AGRICULTURAL LABOR RELATIONS INITIATIVE
WHEREAS, Proposition 22 ~ the Agricultural Labor Relations
l:iitiative, is on the ballot for the November general election; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto affirms the right of farmworkers
to organize ncnviolently to obtain a living wage, human dignity and hope;
NOW, THEREFORE, The Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION l. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby goes on
record in opposition to Proposition No. 22 and urge a 11 No 11 vote on
Proposition No. 22 by all concerned citizens and elected officials of this
State.
SECTION 2. The Clerk of the City of Palo Alto hereby is
directed to transmit ·copies of this resolution to the Governor of the
State of California, the President Pro Tero of the State Senate, the
Speaker of the State Assembly, Senators Clark L. Bradley and
Alfred Alquist; Assemblymen Richard Hayden and John Vasconcellos.
