RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
·DECLARING WEEDS TO BE A NUISANCE AND SETTING A HEARING
ORIGINAL
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
WHEREAS, Certain weeds which ar~ growing fn the City of Palo Alto
upon various streets, alleys, sidewalks, and parcels or private property
within said R11nicipality bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature, may attain
such large growth as to become a fire menace when dry, or are otherwise
noxious and dangerous; and
WHEREAS, said weeds coPstitute a public nuisance;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that said weeds do now
constitute and will continue to constitute a public nuisance and that said
nuisance exists upon all.of the streets, alleys, sidewalks, and parcels of
private property within said city, as shown, descri~, ·and delineated on
the several maps of the properties i,~_ said city which are recorded fn the
Office of_ the County Recorder of the County of Santa Clara:11 reference in
each instance for the description of any particular street, alley, or
parcel of private property being hereby made to the several maps aforesaid,
and, in the event of there being several subdivision •ps on which the
same lots are shown, reference is hereby made to the latest sllbd1vision map.
THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the said public nuisance be abated
in the manner provided by Chapter 8.08 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code;
AND IT ts FURTHER ORDERED that Monday, the 25th da~-~f September',
1972, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. of said day, at the Council Chambers of the
Civic Center of said city, be and the saE is fixed as the tiiae and place
when objections to the proposed destruction or removal of such weeds shall
be heard and given due consideration; ·
AND IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Superintendent of Pub11_c Works
fs hereby directed to cause nottce of said hearing to be g1ven in the time,
unner, and form provided in Chapter 8.08 of said Palo Alto Mwa1c1pa1 ~·

duced and passed at a regular meettng cf the Council of the City_ of Palo Alto,
on Monday, the 11th day of September, 1972, by the fo 11 owing vote:
